Numbers

1:1And Jehovah spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 1:2Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, every male, by their polls; 1:3from twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel, thou and Aaron shall number them by their hosts. 1:4And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of his fathers' house. 1:5And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you. Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur. 1:6Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. 1:7Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab. 1:8Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar. 1:9Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon. 1:10Of the children of Joseph: Of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud. Of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. 1:11Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni. 1:12Of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. 1:13Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran. 1:14Of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel. 1:15Of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan. 1:16These are they that were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel. 1:17And Moses and Aaron took these men that are mentioned by name: 1:18And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls. 1:19As Jehovah commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

1:20And the children of Reuben, Israel's first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:21those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

1:22Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, those that were numbered thereof, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:23those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

1:24Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:25those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty. 1:26Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:27those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.

1:28Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:29those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.

1:30Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:31those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.

1:32Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:33those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.

1:34Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:35those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.

1:36Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:37those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.

1:38Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:39those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.

1:40Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:41those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.

1:42Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; 1:43those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

1:44These are they that were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: they were each one for his fathers' house. 1:45So all they that were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel; 1:46even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

1:47But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them. 1:48For Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 1:49Only the tribe of Levi thou shalt not number, neither shalt thou take the sum of them among the children of Israel; 1:50but appoint thou the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof, and over all that belongeth to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle. 1:51And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. 1:52And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their hosts. 1:53But the Levites shall encamp round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony. 1:54Thus did the children of Israel; according to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so did they.

Psalms

35:1Strive thou, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me:

 Fight thou against them that fight against me.

 35:2Take hold of shield and buckler,

 And stand up for my help.

 35:3Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that pursue me:

 Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

 35:4Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor that seek after my soul:

 Let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt.

 35:5Let them be as chaff before the wind,

 And the angel of Jehovah driving them on.

 35:6Let their way be dark and slippery,

 And the angel of Jehovah pursuing them.

 35:7For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit;

 Without cause have they digged a pit for my soul.

 35:8Let destruction come upon him unawares;

 And let his net that he hath hid catch himself:

 With destruction let him fall therein.

 35:9And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah:

 It shall rejoice in his salvation.

 35:10All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee,

 Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him,

 Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

 35:11Unrighteous witnesses rise up;

 They ask me of things that I know not.

 35:12They reward me evil for good,

 To the bereaving of my soul.

 35:13But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth:

 I afflicted my soul with fasting;

 And my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

 35:14I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother:

 I bowed down mourning, as one that bewaileth his mother.

 35:15But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together:

 The abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not;

 They did tear me, and ceased not:

 35:16Like the profane mockers in feasts,

 They gnashed upon me with their teeth.

 35:17Lord, how long wilt thou look on?

 Rescue my soul from their destructions,

 My darling from the lions.

 35:18I will give thee thanks in the great assembly:

 I will praise thee among much people.

 35:19Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me;

 Neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

 35:20For they speak not peace;

 But they devise deceitful words against them that are quiet in the land.

 35:21Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me;

 They said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

 35:22Thou hast seen it, O Jehovah; keep not silence:

 O Lord, be not far from me.

 35:23Stir up thyself, and awake to the justice due unto me,

 Even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

 35:24Judge me, O Jehovah my God, according to thy righteousness;

 And let them not rejoice over me.

 35:25Let them not say in their heart, Aha, so would we have it:

 Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

 35:26Let them be put to shame and confounded together that rejoice at my hurt:

 Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

 35:27Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause:

 Yea, let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified,

 Who hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

 35:28And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness

 And of thy praise all the day long.

Ecclesiastes

11:1Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days. 11:2Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. 11:3If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be. 11:4He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. 11:5As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all. 11:6In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. 11:7Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun. 11:8Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. 11:9Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 11:10Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

Titus

3:1Put them in mind to be in subjection to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready unto every good work, 3:2to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men. 3:3For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 3:4But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared, 3:5not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 3:6which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 3:7that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 3:8Faithful is the saying, and concerning these things I desire that thou affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men: 3:9but shun foolish questionings, and genealogies, and strifes, and fightings about law; for they are unprofitable and vain. 3:10A factious man after a first and second admonition refuse; 3:11knowing that such a one is perverted, and sinneth, being self-condemned. 3:12When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, give diligence to come unto me to Nicopolis: for there I have determined to winter. 3:13Set forward Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them. 3:14And let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. 3:15All that are with me salute thee. Salute them that love us in faith. Grace be with you all.
