2 Chronicles

2:1Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom. 2:2And Solomon counted out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand men that were hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them. 2:3And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, even so deal with me. 2:4Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt-offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Jehovah our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel. 2:5And the house which I build is great; for great is our God above all gods. 2:6But who is able to build him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him? 2:7Now therefore send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that knoweth how to grave all manner of gravings, to be with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide. 2:8Send me also cedar-trees, fir-trees, and algum-trees, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants know how to cut timber in Lebanon: and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants, 2:9even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful. 2:10And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil. 2:11Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loveth his people, he hath made thee king over them. 2:12Huram said moreover, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom. 2:13And now I have sent a skilful man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's, 2:14the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan; and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson, also to grave any manner of graving, and to devise any device; that there may be a place appointed unto him with thy skilful men, and with the skilful men of my lord David thy father. 2:15Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants: 2:16and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem. 2:17And Solomon numbered all the sojourners that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred. 2:18And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand that were hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people at work.

1 John

2:1My little children, these things write I unto you that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2:2and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world. 2:3And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 2:4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 2:5but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily hath the love of God been perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him: 2:6he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked. 2:7Beloved, no new commandment write I unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old commandment is the word which ye heard. 2:8Again, a new commandment write I unto you, which thing is true in him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shineth. 2:9He that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother, is in the darkness even until now. 2:10He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him. 2:11But he that hateth his brother is in the darkness, and walketh in the darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes. 2:12I write unto you, my little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 2:13I write unto you, fathers, because ye know him who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I have written unto you, little children, because ye know the Father. 2:14I have written unto you, fathers, because ye know him who is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the evil one. 2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 2:16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vain glory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 2:17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 2:18Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour. 2:19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us. 2:20And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all the things. 2:21I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 2:22Who is the liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, even he that denieth the Father and the Son. 2:23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that confesseth the Son hath the Father also. 2:24As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father. 2:25And this is the promise which he promised us, even the life eternal. 2:26These things have I written unto you concerning them that would lead you astray. 2:27And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you; concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him. 2:28And now, my little children, abide in him; that, if he shall be manifested, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 2:29If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one also that doeth righteousness is begotten of him.

Nahum

1:1The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. 1:2Jehovah is a jealous God and avengeth; Jehovah avengeth and is full of wrath; Jehovah taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. 1:3Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means clear the guilty: Jehovah hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. 1:4He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. 1:5The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 1:6Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him. 1:7Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him. 1:8But with an over-running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. 1:9What do ye devise against Jehovah? he will make a full end; affliction shall not rise up the second time. 1:10For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly as dry stubble. 1:11There is one gone forth out of thee, that deviseth evil against Jehovah, that counselleth wickedness. 1:12Thus saith Jehovah: Though they be in full strength, and likewise many, even so shall they be cut down, and he shall pass away. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. 1:13And now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder. 1:14And Jehovah hath given commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image; I will make thy grave; for thou art vile. 1:15Behold, upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! Keep thy feasts, O Judah, perform thy vows; for the wicked one shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

Luke

17:1And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come! 17:2It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. 17:3Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. 17:4And if he sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. 17:5And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 17:6And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you. 17:7But who is there of you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say unto him, when he is come in from the field, Come straightway and sit down to meat; 17:8and will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? 17:9Doth he thank the servant because he did the things that were commanded? 17:10Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do. 17:11And it came to pass, as they were on their way to Jerusalem, that he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee. 17:12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off: 17:13and they lifted up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 17:14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go and show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed. 17:15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, with a loud voice glorifying God; 17:16and he fell upon his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17:17And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 17:18Were there none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger? 17:19And he said unto him, Arise, and go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. 17:20And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 17:21neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you. 17:22And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. 17:23And they shall say to you, Lo, there! Lo, here! go not away, nor follow after them: 17:24for as the lightning, when it lighteneth out of the one part under the heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall the Son of man be in his day. 17:25But first must he suffer many things and be rejected of this generation. 17:26And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, even so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 17:27They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 17:28Likewise even as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 17:29but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all: 17:30after the same manner shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed. 17:31In that day, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and let him that is in the field likewise not return back. 17:32Remember Lot's wife. 17:33Whosoever shall seek to gain his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 17:34I say unto you, In that night there shall be two men on one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 17:35There shall be two women grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 17:36There shall be two men in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 17:37And they answering say unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where the body is, thither will the eagles also be gathered together.
