40:1And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker offended their lord the king of Egypt. 40:2And Pharaoh was wroth against his two officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers. 40:3And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound. 40:4And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he ministered unto them: and they continued a season in ward. 40:5And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream, in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were bound in the prison. 40:6And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and saw them, and, behold, they were sad. 40:7And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in ward in his master's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sad to-day? 40:8And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell it me, I pray you.
40:9And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me; 40:10and in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and its blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes: 40:11and Pharaoh's cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand. 40:12And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: the three branches are three days; 40:13within yet three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head, and restore thee unto thine office: and thou shalt give Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler. 40:14But have me in thy remembrance when it shall be well with thee, and show kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house: 40:15for indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
40:16When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, three baskets of white bread were on my head: 40:17and in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of baked food for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head. 40:18And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: the three baskets are three days; 40:19within yet three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee. 40:20And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and the head of the chief baker among his servants. 40:21And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand: 40:22but he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them. 40:23Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
10:1And he arose from thence and cometh into the borders of Judaea and beyond the Jordan: and multitudes come together unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. 10:2And there came unto him Pharisees, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? trying him. 10:3And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 10:4And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. 10:5But Jesus said unto them, For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 10:6But from the beginning of the creation, Male and female made he them. 10:7For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; 10:8and the two shall become one flesh: so that they are no more two, but one flesh. 10:9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 10:10And in the house the disciples asked him again of this matter. 10:11And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her: 10:12and if she herself shall put away her husband, and marry another, she committeth adultery. 10:13And they were bringing unto him little children, that he should touch them: and the disciples rebuked them. 10:14But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me; forbid them not: for to such belongeth the kingdom of God. 10:15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein. 10:16And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them. 10:17And as he was going forth into the way, there ran one to him, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 10:18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good save one, even God. 10:19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor thy father and mother. 10:20And he said unto him, Teacher, all these things have I observed from my youth. 10:21And Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 10:22But his countenance fell at the saying, and he went away sorrowful: for he was one that had great possessions. 10:23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 10:24And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 10:25It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 10:26And they were astonished exceedingly, saying unto him, Then who can be saved? 10:27Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God. 10:28Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 10:29Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel's sake, 10:30but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 10:31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. 10:32And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going before them: and they were amazed; and they that followed were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were to happen unto him, 10:33saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles: 10:34and they shall mock him, and shall spit upon him, and shall scourge him, and shall kill him; and after three days he shall rise again. 10:35And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying unto him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall ask of thee. 10:36And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? 10:37And they said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy glory. 10:38But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I drink? or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? 10:39And they said unto him, We are able. And Jesus said unto them, The cup that I drink ye shall drink; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: 10:40but to sit on my right hand or on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared. 10:41And when the ten heard it, they began to be moved with indignation concerning James and John. 10:42And Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they who are accounted to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great ones exercise authority over them. 10:43But it is not so among you: but whosoever would become great among you, shall be your minister; 10:44and whosoever would be first among you, shall be servant of all. 10:45For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. 10:46And they come to Jericho: and as he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the way side. 10:47And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 10:48And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. 10:49And Jesus stood still, and said, Call ye him. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good cheer: rise, he calleth thee. 10:50And he, casting away his garment, sprang up, and came to Jesus. 10:51And Jesus answered him, and said, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And the blind man said unto him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight. 10:52And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And straightway he received his sight, and followed him in the way.
6:1Then Job answered and said,
6:2Oh that my vexation were but weighed,
And all my calamity laid in the balances!
6:3For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas:
Therefore have my words been rash.
6:4For the arrows of the Almighty are within me,
The poison whereof my spirit drinketh up:
The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
6:5Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass?
Or loweth the ox over his fodder?
6:6Can that which hath no savor be eaten without salt?
Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
6:7My soul refuseth to touch them;
They are as loathsome food to me.
6:8Oh that I might have my request;
And that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
6:9Even that it would please God to crush me;
That he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
6:10And be it still my consolation,
Yea, let me exult in pain that spareth not,
That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
6:11What is my strength, that I should wait?
And what is mine end, that I should be patient?
6:12Is my strength the strength of stones?
Or is my flesh of brass?
6:13Is it not that I have no help in me,
And that wisdom is driven quite from me?
6:14To him that is ready to faint kindness should be showed from his friend;
Even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
6:15My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook,
As the channel of brooks that pass away;
6:16Which are black by reason of the ice,
And wherein the snow hideth itself:
6:17What time they wax warm, they vanish;
When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
6:18The caravans that travel by the way of them turn aside;
They go up into the waste, and perish.
6:19The caravans of Tema looked,
The companies of Sheba waited for them.
6:20They were put to shame because they had hoped;
They came thither, and were confounded.
6:21For now ye are nothing;
Ye see a terror, and are afraid.
6:22Did I say, Give unto me?
Or, Offer a present for me of your substance?
6:23Or, Deliver me from the adversary's hand?
Or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?
6:24Teach me, and I will hold my peace;
And cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
6:25How forcible are words of uprightness!
But your reproof, what doth it reprove?
6:26Do ye think to reprove words,
Seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind?
6:27Yea, ye would cast lots upon the fatherless,
And make merchandise of your friend.
6:28Now therefore be pleased to look upon me;
For surely I shall not lie to your face.
6:29Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice;
Yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
6:30Is there injustice on my tongue?
Cannot my taste discern mischievous things?
10:1Brethren, my heart's desire and my supplication to God is for them, that they may be saved. 10:2For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 10:4For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believeth. 10:5For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby. 10:6But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:) 10:7or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead.) 10:8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: 10:9because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: 10:10for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame. 10:12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him: 10:13for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 10:14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 10:15and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things! 10:16But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 10:17So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. 10:18But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily,
Their sound went out into all the earth,
And their words unto the ends of the world.
10:19But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith,
I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation,
With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.
10:20And Isaiah is very bold, and saith,
I was found of them that sought me not;
I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.
10:21But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
