43:1And the famine was sore in the land. 43:2And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the grain which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food. 43:3And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. 43:4If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food: 43:5but if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down; for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. 43:6And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother? 43:7And they said, The man asked straitly concerning ourselves, and concerning our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we in any wise know that he would say, Bring your brother down? 43:8And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones. 43:9I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever: 43:10for except we had lingered, surely we had now returned a second time. 43:11And their father Israel said unto them, If it be so now, do this: take of the choice fruits of the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spicery and myrrh, nuts, and almonds; 43:12and take double money in your hand; and the money that was returned in the mouth of your sacks carry again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight: 43:13take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man: 43:14and God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may release unto you your other brother and Benjamin. And if I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved. 43:15And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph. 43:16And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, Bring the men into the house, and slay, and make ready; for the men shall dine with me at noon. 43:17And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men to Joseph's house. 43:18And the men were afraid, because they were brought to Joseph's house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses. 43:19And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they spake unto him at the door of the house, 43:20and said, Oh, my lord, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food: 43:21and it came to pass, when we came to the lodging-place, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand. 43:22And other money have we brought down in our hand to buy food: we know not who put our money in our sacks. 43:23And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them. 43:24And the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet. And he gave their asses provender. 43:25And they made ready the present against Joseph's coming at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.
43:26And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed down themselves to him to the earth. 43:27And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive? 43:28And they said, Thy servant our father is well, he is yet alive. And they bowed the head, and made obeisance. 43:29And he lifted up his eyes, and saw Benjamin his brother, his mother's son, and said, Is this your youngest brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son. 43:30And Joseph made haste; for his heart yearned over his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there. 43:31And he washed his face, and came out; and he refrained himself, and said, Set on bread. 43:32And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, that did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians. 43:33And they sat before him, the first-born according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one with another. 43:34And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.
13:1And as he went forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Teacher, behold, what manner of stones and what manner of buildings! 13:2And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down. 13:3And as he sat on the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 13:4Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when these things are all about to be accomplished? 13:5And Jesus began to say unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. 13:6Many shall come in my name, saying, I am he; and shall lead many astray. 13:7And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled: these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. 13:8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in divers places; there shall be famines: these things are the beginning of travail. 13:9But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them. 13:10And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations. 13:11And when they lead you to judgment, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. 13:12And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. 13:13And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. 13:14But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not (let him that readeth understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: 13:15and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out his house: 13:16and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. 13:17But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! 13:18And pray ye that it be not in the winter. 13:19For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be. 13:20And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. 13:21And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe it not: 13:22for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect. 13:23But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand. 13:24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 13:25and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken. 13:26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 13:27And then shall he send forth the angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. 13:28Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; 13:29even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors. 13:30Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. 13:31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 13:32But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 13:33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 13:34It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch. 13:35Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning; 13:36lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 13:37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
9:1Then Job answered and said,
9:2Of a truth I know that it is so:
But how can man be just with God?
9:3If he be pleased to contend with him,
He cannot answer him one of a thousand.
9:4He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength:
Who hath hardened himself against him, and prospered?-
9:5Him that removeth the mountains, and they know it not,
When he overturneth them in his anger;
9:6That shaketh the earth out of its place,
And the pillars thereof tremble;
9:7That commandeth the sun, and it riseth not,
And sealeth up the stars;
9:8That alone stretcheth out the heavens,
And treadeth upon the waves of the sea;
9:9That maketh the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades,
And the chambers of the south;
9:10That doeth great things past finding out,
Yea, marvellous things without number.
9:11Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not:
He passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
9:12Behold, he seizeth the prey, who can hinder him?
Who will say unto him, What doest thou?
9:13God will not withdraw his anger;
The helpers of Rahab do stoop under him.
9:14How much less shall I answer him,
And choose out my words to reason with him?
9:15Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer;
I would make supplication to my judge.
9:16If I had called, and he had answered me,
Yet would I not believe that he hearkened unto my voice.
9:17For he breaketh me with a tempest,
And multiplieth my wounds without cause.
9:18He will not suffer me to take my breath,
But filleth me with bitterness.
9:19If we speak of strength, lo, he is mighty!
And if of justice, Who, saith he, will summon me?
9:20Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me:
Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.
9:21I am perfect; I regard not myself;
I despise my life.
9:22It is all one; therefore I say,
He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
9:23If the scourge slay suddenly,
He will mock at the trial of the innocent.
9:24The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;
He covereth the faces of the judges thereof:
If it be not he, who then is it?
9:25Now my days are swifter than a post:
They flee away, they see no good,
9:26They are passed away as the swift ships;
As the eagle that swoopeth on the prey.
9:27If I say, I will forget my complaint,
I will put off my sad countenance, and be of good cheer;
9:28I am afraid of all my sorrows,
I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
9:29I shall be condemned;
Why then do I labor in vain?
9:30If I wash myself with snow water,
And make my hands never so clean;
9:31Yet wilt thou plunge me in the ditch,
And mine own clothes shall abhor me.
9:32For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him,
That we should come together in judgment.
9:33There is no umpire betwixt us,
That might lay his hand upon us both.
9:34Let him take his rod away from me,
And let not his terror make me afraid:
9:35Then would I speak, and not fear him;
For I am not so in myself.
13:1Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God. 13:2Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment. 13:3For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same: 13:4for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil. 13:5Wherefore ye must needs be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience' sake. 13:6For this cause ye pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God's service, attending continually upon this very thing. 13:7Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. 13:8Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loveth his neighbor hath fulfilled the law. 13:9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 13:10Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: love therefore is the fulfilment of the law. 13:11And this, knowing the season, that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is salvation nearer to us than when we first believed. 13:12The night is far spent, and the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13:13Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy. 13:14But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
