Exodus

6:1And Jehovah said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

6:2And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am Jehovah: 6:3and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them. 6:4And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they sojourned. 6:5And moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 6:6Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments: 6:7and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah your God, who bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 6:8And I will bring you in unto the land which I sware to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am Jehovah. 6:9And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

6:10And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 6:11Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land. 6:12And Moses spake before Jehovah, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? 6:13And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

6:14These are the heads of their fathers' houses. The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben. 6:15And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman; these are the families of Simeon. 6:16And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years. 6:17The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families. 6:18And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years. 6:19And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations. 6:20And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years. 6:21And the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri. 6:22And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri. 6:23And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 6:24And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites. 6:25And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites according to their families. 6:26These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom Jehovah said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts. 6:27These are they that spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

6:28And it came to pass on the day when Jehovah spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt, 6:29that Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, I am Jehovah: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak unto thee. 6:30And Moses said before Jehovah, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

Luke

9:1And he called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 9:2And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 9:3And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staff, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats. 9:4And into whatsoever house ye enter, there abide, and thence depart. 9:5And as many as receive you not, when ye depart from that city, shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony against them. 9:6And they departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere. 9:7Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done: and he was much perplexed, because that it was said by some, that John was risen from the dead; 9:8and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets was risen again. 9:9And Herod said, John I beheaded: but who is this, about whom I hear such things? And he sought to see him. 9:10And the apostles, when they were returned, declared unto him what things they had done. And he took them, and withdrew apart to a city called Bethsaida. 9:11But the multitudes perceiving it followed him: and he welcomed them, and spake to them of the kingdom of God, and them that had need of healing he cured. 9:12And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place. 9:13But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy food for all this people. 9:14For they were about five thousand men. And he said unto his disciples, Make them sit down in companies, about fifty each. 9:15And they did so, and made them all sit down. 9:16And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake; and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. 9:17And they ate, and were all filled: and there was taken up that which remained over to them of broken pieces, twelve baskets. 9:18And it came to pass, as he was praying apart, the disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am? 9:19And they answering said, John the Baptist; but others say, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again. 9:20And he said unto them, But who say ye that I am? And Peter answering said, The Christ of God. 9:21But he charged them, and commanded them to tell this to no man; 9:22saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up. 9:23And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 9:24For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 9:25For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self? 9:26For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in his own glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels. 9:27But I tell you of a truth, There are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. 9:28And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up into the mountain to pray. 9:29And as he was praying, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment became white and dazzling. 9:30And behold, there talked with him two men, who were Moses and Elijah; 9:31who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 9:32Now Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. 9:33And it came to pass, as they were parting from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said. 9:34And while he said these things, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. 9:35And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my Son, my chosen: hear ye him. 9:36And when the voice came, Jesus was found alone. And they held their peace, and told no man in those days any of the things which they had seen. 9:37And it came to pass, on the next day, when they were come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. 9:38And behold, a man from the multitude cried, saying, Teacher, I beseech thee to look upon my son; for he is mine only child: 9:39and behold, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth, and it hardly departeth from him, bruising him sorely. 9:40And I besought thy disciples to cast it out; and they could not. 9:41And Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? bring hither thy son. 9:42And as he was yet a coming, the demon dashed him down, and tare him grievously. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. 9:43And they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marvelling at all the things which he did, he said unto his disciples, 9:44Let these words sink into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered up into the hands of men. 9:45But they understood not this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. 9:46And there arose a reasoning among them, which of them was the greatest. 9:47But when Jesus saw the reasoning of their heart, he took a little child, and set him by his side, 9:48and said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this little child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same is great. 9:49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name; and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us. 9:50But Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against you is for you. 9:51And it came to pass, when the days were well-nigh come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 9:52and sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. 9:53And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he were going to Jerusalem. 9:54And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we bid fire to come down from heaven, and consume them? 9:55But he turned, and rebuked them. 9:56And they went to another village. 9:57And as they went on the way, a certain man said unto him, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 9:58And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 9:59And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 9:60But he said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go thou and publish abroad the kingdom of God. 9:61And another also said, I will follow thee, Lord; but first suffer me to bid farewell to them that are at my house. 9:62But Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Job

23:1Then Job answered and said,

 23:2Even to-day is my complaint rebellious:

 My stroke is heavier than my groaning.

 23:3Oh that I knew where I might find him!

 That I might come even to his seat!

 23:4I would set my cause in order before him,

 And fill my mouth with arguments.

 23:5I would know the words which he would answer me,

 And understand what he would say unto me.

 23:6Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power?

 Nay; but he would give heed unto me.

 23:7There the upright might reason with him;

 So should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

 23:8Behold, I go forward, but he is not there;

 And backward, but I cannot perceive him;

 23:9On the left hand, when he doth work, but I cannot behold him;

 He hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him.

 23:10But he knoweth the way that I take;

 When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

 23:11My foot hath held fast to his steps;

 His way have I kept, and turned not aside.

 23:12I have not gone back from the commandment of his lips;

 I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

 23:13But he is in one mind, and who can turn him?

 And what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

 23:14For he performeth that which is appointed for me:

 And many such things are with him.

 23:15Therefore am I terrified at his presence;

 When I consider, I am afraid of him.

 23:16For God hath made my heart faint,

 And the Almighty hath terrified me;

 23:17Because I was not cut off before the darkness,

 Neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face.

1 Corinthians

10:1For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3and did all eat the same spiritual food; 10:4and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ. 10:5Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 10:6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 10:7Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 10:8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 10:9Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents. 10:10Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer. 10:11Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come. 10:12Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 10:13There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it. 10:14Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 10:15I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. 10:16The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ? 10:17seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we are all partake of the one bread. 10:18Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they that eat the sacrifices communion with the altar? 10:19What say I then? that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 10:20But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons. 10:21Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons. 10:22Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? 10:23All things are lawful; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful; but not all things edify. 10:24Let no man seek his own, but each his neighbor's good. 10:25Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat, asking no question for conscience' sake, 10:26for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. 10:27If one of them that believe not biddeth you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience' sake. 10:28But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake: 10:29conscience, I say, not thine own, but the other's; for why is my liberty judged by another conscience? 10:30If I partake with thankfulness, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? 10:31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 10:32Give no occasions of stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the church of God: 10:33even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
