3:1And Joshua rose up early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel; and they lodged there before they passed over. 3:2And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp; 3:3and they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. 3:4Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go; for ye have not passed this way heretofore. 3:5And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves; for tomorrow Jehovah will do wonders among you. 3:6And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
3:7And Jehovah said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee. 3:8And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, ye shall stand still in the Jordan. 3:9And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of Jehovah your God. 3:10And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Hivite, and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite. 3:11Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into the Jordan. 3:12Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, for every tribe a man. 3:13And it shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of Jehovah, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap.
3:14And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over the Jordan, the priests that bare the ark of the covenant being before the people; 3:15and when they that bare the ark were come unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (for the Jordan overfloweth all its banks all the time of harvest,) 3:16that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. 3:17And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over the Jordan.

126:1When Jehovah brought back those that returned to Zion,
We were like unto them that dream.
126:2Then was our mouth filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing:
Then said they among the nations,
Jehovah hath done great things for them.
126:3Jehovah hath done great things for us,
Whereof we are glad.
126:4Turn again our captivity, O Jehovah,
As the streams in the South.
126:5They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
126:6He that goeth forth and weepeth, *bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
A Song of Ascents; of Solomon.
127:1Except Jehovah build the house,
They labor in vain that build it:
Except Jehovah keep the city,
The watchman waketh but in vain.
127:2It is vain for you to rise up early,
To take rest late,
To eat the bread of toil;
For so he giveth unto his beloved *sleep.
127:3Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah;
And the fruit of the womb is his reward.
127:4As arrows in the hand of a mighty man,
So are the children of youth.
127:5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:
They shall not be put to shame,
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
A Song of Ascents.
128:1Blessed is every one that feareth Jehovah,
That walketh in his ways.
128:2For thou shalt eat the labor of thy hands:
Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
128:3Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine,
In the innermost parts of thy house;
Thy children like olive plants,
Round about thy table.
128:4Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
That feareth Jehovah.
128:5Jehovah bless thee out of Zion:
And see thou the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
128:6Yea, see thou thy children's children.
*Peace be upon Israel.
63:1Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 63:2Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat? 63:3I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment. 63:4For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. 63:5And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me. 63:6And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth. 63:7I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah, and the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. 63:8For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not deal falsely: so he was their Saviour. 63:9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. 63:10But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them. 63:11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them? 63:12that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 63:13that led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? 63:14As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest; so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name. 63:15Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where are thy zeal and thy mighty acts? the yearning of thy heart and thy compassions are restrained toward me. 63:16For thou art our Father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name. 63:17O Jehovah, why dost thou make us to err from thy ways, and hardenest our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. 63:18Thy holy people possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. 63:19We are become as they over whom thou never barest rule, as they that were not called by thy name.
11:1And it came to pass when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities. 11:2Now when John heard in the prison the works of the Christ, he sent by his disciples 11:3and said unto him, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another? 11:4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which ye hear and see: 11:5the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidings preached to them. 11:6And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
11:7And as these went their way, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken with the wind? 11:8But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that wear soft raiment are in king's houses. 11:9But wherefore went ye out? to see a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. 11:10This is he, of whom it is written,
Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
Who shall prepare thy way before thee.
11:11Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptist: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 11:12And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and men of violence take it by force. 11:13For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 11:14And if ye are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, that is to come. 11:15He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 11:16But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the marketplaces, who call unto their fellows 11:17and say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not mourn. 11:18For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a demon. 11:19The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! And wisdom is justified by her works.
11:20Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not. 11:21Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 11:22But I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 11:23And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt go down unto Hades: for if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in thee, it would have remained until this day. 11:24But I say unto you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
11:25At that season Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: 11:26yea, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight. 11:27All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth the Son, save the Father; neither doth any know the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him. 11:28Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 11:29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 11:30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
