Deuteronomy

12:1These are the statutes and the ordinances which ye shall observe to do in the land which Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath given thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth. 12:2Ye shall surely destroy all the places wherein the nations that ye shall dispossess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: 12:3and ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods; and ye shall destroy their name out of that place. 12:4Ye shall not do so unto Jehovah your God. 12:5But unto the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come; 12:6and thither ye shall bring your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill-offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock: 12:7and there ye shall eat before Jehovah your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee. 12:8Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes; 12:9for ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee. 12:10But when ye go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which Jehovah your God causeth you to inherit, and he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; 12:11then it shall come to pass that to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto Jehovah. 12:12And ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and the Levite that is within your gates, forasmuch as he hath no portion nor inheritance with you. 12:13Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt-offerings in every place that thou seest; 12:14but in the place which Jehovah shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

12:15Notwithstanding, thou mayest kill and eat flesh within all thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul, according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart. 12:16Only ye shall not eat the blood; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water. 12:17Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy grain, or of thy new wine, or of thine oil, or the firstlings of thy herd or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill-offerings, nor the heave-offering of thy hand; 12:18but thou shalt eat them before Jehovah thy God in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before Jehovah thy God in all that thou puttest thy hand unto. 12:19Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest in thy land.

12:20When Jehovah thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul desireth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, after all the desire of thy soul. 12:21If the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to put his name there, be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which Jehovah hath given thee, as I have commanded thee; and thou mayest eat within thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul. 12:22Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat thereof: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof alike. 12:23Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou shalt not eat the life with the flesh. 12:24Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water. 12:25Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah. 12:26Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which Jehovah shall choose: 12:27and thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of Jehovah thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of Jehovah thy God; and thou shalt eat the flesh. 12:28Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.

12:29When Jehovah thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossess them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their land; 12:30take heed to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. 12:31Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.

12:32What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Psalms

97:1Jehovah reigneth; let the earth rejoice;

 Let the multitude of isles be glad.

 97:2Clouds and darkness are round about him:

 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

 97:3A fire goeth before him,

 And burneth up his adversaries round about.

 97:4His lightnings lightened the world:

 The earth saw, and trembled.

 97:5The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Jehovah,

 At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

 97:6The heavens declare his righteousness,

 And all the peoples have seen his glory.

 97:7Let all them be put to shame that serve graven images,

 That boast themselves of idols:

 Worship him, all ye gods.

 97:8Zion heard and was glad,

 And the daughters of Judah rejoiced,

 Because of thy judgments, O Jehovah.

 97:9For thou, Jehovah, art most high above all the earth:

 Thou art exalted far above all gods.

 97:10O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil:

 He preserveth the souls of his saints;

 He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

 97:11Light is sown for the righteous,

 And gladness for the upright in heart.

 97:12Be glad in Jehovah, ye righteous;

 And give thanks to his holy memorial name.

Psalm 98

A Psalm.

 98:1Oh sing unto Jehovah a new song;

 For he hath done marvellous things:

 His right hand, and his holy arm, hath wrought salvation for him.

 98:2Jehovah hath made known his salvation:

 His righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the nations.

 98:3He hath remembered his lovingkindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel:

 All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

 98:4Make a joyful noise unto Jehovah, all the earth:

 Break forth and sing for joy, yea, sing praises.

 98:5Sing praises unto Jehovah with the harp;

 With the harp and the voice of melody.

 98:6With trumpets and sound of cornet

 Make a joyful noise before the King, Jehovah.

 98:7Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;

 The world, and they that dwell therein;

 98:8Let the floods clap their hands;

 Let the hills sing for joy together

 98:9Before Jehovah; for he cometh to judge the earth:

 He will judge the world with righteousness,

 And the peoples with equity.

Isaiah

40:1Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 40:2Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem; and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she hath received of Jehovah's hand double for all her sins. 40:3The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God. 40:4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain: 40:5and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it. 40:6The voice of one saying, Cry. And one said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field. 40:7The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, because the breath of Jehovah bloweth upon it; surely the people is grass. 40:8The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever. 40:9O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God! 40:10Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. 40:11He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young. 40:12Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? 40:13Who hath directed the Spirit of Jehovah, or being his counsellor hath taught him? 40:14With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding? 40:15Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance: Behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. 40:16And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt-offering. 40:17All the nations are as nothing before him; they are accounted by him as less than nothing, and vanity. 40:18To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? 40:19The image, a workman hath cast it, and the goldsmith overlayeth it with gold, and casteth for it silver chains. 40:20He that is too impoverished for such an oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a skilful workman to set up a graven image, that shall not be moved. 40:21Have ye not known? have yet not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 40:22It is he that sitteth above the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in; 40:23that bringeth princes to nothing; that maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. 40:24Yea, they have not been planted; yea, they have not been sown; yea, their stock hath not taken root in the earth: moreover he bloweth upon them, and they wither, and the whirlwind taketh them away as stubble. 40:25To whom then will ye liken me, that I should be equal to him? saith the Holy One. 40:26Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these, that bringeth out their host by number; he calleth them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and for that he is strong in power, not one is lacking. 40:27Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and the justice due to me is passed away from my God? 40:28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding. 40:29He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength. 40:30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 40:31but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

Revelation

10:1And I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, arrayed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire; 10:2and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left upon the earth; 10:3and he cried with a great voice, as a lion roareth: and when he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices. 10:4And when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. 10:5And the angel that I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his right hand to heaven, 10:6and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created the heaven and the things that are therein, and the earth and the things that are therein, and the sea and the things that are therein, that there shall be delay no longer: 10:7but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then is finished they mystery of God, according to the good tidings which he declared to his servants the prophets. 10:8And the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard it again speaking with me, and saying, Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel that standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 10:9And I went unto the angel, saying unto him that he should give me the little book. And he saith unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet as honey. 10:10And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and when I had eaten it, my belly was made bitter. 10:11And they say unto me, Thou must prophesy again over many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.
