Deuteronomy

13:1If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder, 13:2and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 13:3thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams: for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 13:4Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. 13:5And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, to draw thee aside out of the way which Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.

13:6If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, that is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 13:7of the gods of the peoples that are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; 13:8thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: 13:9but thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. 13:10And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 13:11And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do not more any such wickedness as this is in the midst of thee.

13:12If thou shalt hear tell concerning one of thy cities, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to dwell there, saying, 13:13Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of thee, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; 13:14then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in the midst of thee, 13:15thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. 13:16And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, unto Jehovah thy God: and it shall be a heap for ever; it shall not be built again. 13:17And there shall cleave nought of the devoted thing to thy hand; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; 13:18when thou shalt hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.

14:1Ye are the children of Jehovah your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. 14:2For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, and Jehovah hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

14:3Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. 14:4These are the beasts which ye may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, 14:5the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelope, and the chamois. 14:6And every beast that parteth the hoof, and hath the hoof cloven in two, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat. 14:7Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have the hoof cloven: the camel, and the hare, and the coney; because they chew the cud but part not the hoof, they are unclean unto you. 14:8And the swine, because he parteth the hoof but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you: of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch.

14:9These ye may eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales may ye eat; 14:10and whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean unto you.

14:11Of all clean birds ye may eat. 14:12But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the ospray, 14:13and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind, 14:14and every raven after its kind, 14:15and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-mew, and the hawk after its kind, 14:16the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl, 14:17and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant, 14:18and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. 14:19And all winged creeping things are unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 14:20Of all clean birds ye may eat.

14:21Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou mayest give it unto the sojourner that is within thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto a foreigner: for thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

14:22Thou shalt surely tithe all the increase of thy seed, that which cometh forth from the field year by year. 14:23And thou shalt eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock; that thou mayest learn to fear Jehovah thy God always. 14:24And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to set his name there, when Jehovah thy God shall bless thee; 14:25then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shalt go unto the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose: 14:26and thou shalt bestow the money for whatsoever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou and thy household. 14:27And the Levite that is within thy gates, thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.

14:28At the end of every three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase in the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: 14:29and the Levite, because he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.

Psalms

99:1Jehovah reigneth; let the peoples tremble:

 He *sitteth above the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

 99:2Jehovah is great in Zion;

 And he is high above all the peoples.

 99:3Let them praise thy great and terrible name:

 Holy is he.

 99:4The king's strength also loveth justice;

 Thou dost establish equity;

 Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob.

 99:5Exalt ye Jehovah our God,

 And worship at his footstool:

 Holy is he.

 99:6Moses and Aaron among his priests,

 And Samuel among them that call upon his name;

 They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them.

 99:7He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud:

 They kept his testimonies,

 And the statute that he gave them.

 99:8Thou answeredst them, O Jehovah our God:

 Thou wast a God that forgavest them,

 Though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

 99:9Exalt ye Jehovah our God,

 And worship at his holy hill;

 For Jehovah our God is holy.

Psalm 100

A Psalm *of thanksgiving.

 100:1Make a joyful noise unto Jehovah, *all ye lands.

 100:2Serve Jehovah with gladness:

 Come before his presence with singing.

 100:3Know ye that Jehovah, he is God:

 It is he that hath made us, *and we are his;

 We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

 100:4Enter into his gates with *thanksgiving,

 And into his courts with praise:

 Give thanks unto him, and bless his name.

 100:5For Jehovah is good; his lovingkindness endureth for ever,

 And his faithfulness unto all generations.

Psalm 101

A Psalm of David.

 101:1I will sing of lovingkindness and justice:

 Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I sing praises.

 101:2I will *behave myself wisely in a perfect way:

 Oh when wilt thou come unto me?

 I will walk within my house *with a perfect heart.

 101:3I will set no base thing before mine eyes:

 I hate *the work of them that turn aside;

 It shall not cleave unto me.

 101:4A perverse heart shall depart from me:

 I will know no *evil thing.

 101:5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I destroy:

 Him that hath a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.

 101:6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me:

 He that walketh in a perfect way, he shall minister unto me.

 101:7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house:

 He that speaketh falsehood shall not be established before mine eyes.

 101:8Morning by morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land;

 To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of Jehovah.

Isaiah

41:1Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the peoples renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak; let us come near together to judgment. 41:2Who hath raised up one from the east, whom he calleth in righteousness to his foot? he giveth nations before him, and maketh him rule over kings; he giveth them as the dust to his sword, as the driven stubble to his bow. 41:3He pursueth them, and passeth on safely, even by a way that he had not gone with his feet. 41:4Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, the first, and with the last, I am he. 41:5The isles have seen, and fear; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come. 41:6They help every one his neighbor; and every one saith to his brother, Be of good courage. 41:7So the carpenter encourageth the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smiteth the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that is should not be moved. 41:8But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend, 41:9thou whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from the corners thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee and not cast thee away; 41:10Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 41:11Behold, all they that are incensed against thee shall be put to shame and confounded: they that strive with thee shall be as nothing, and shall perish. 41:12Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contend with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 41:13For I, Jehovah thy God, will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. 41:14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith Jehovah, and thy Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. 41:15Behold, I have made thee to be a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth; thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. 41:16Thou shalt winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and thou shalt rejoice in Jehovah, thou shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel. 41:17The poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst; I, Jehovah, will answer them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. 41:18I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. 41:19I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil-tree; I will set in the desert the fir-tree, the pine, and the box-tree together: 41:20that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. 41:21Produce your cause, saith Jehovah; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. 41:22Let them bring forth, and declare unto us what shall happen: declare ye the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come. 41:23Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together. 41:24Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work is of nought; an abomination is he that chooseth you. 41:25I have raised up one from the north, and he is come; from the rising of the sun one that calleth upon my name: and he shall come upon rulers as upon mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay. 41:26Who hath declared it from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is right? yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that showeth, yea, there is none that heareth your words. 41:27I am the first that saith unto Zion, Behold, behold them; and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings. 41:28And when I look, there is no man: even among them there is no counsellor, that, when I ask of them, can answer a word. 41:29Behold, all of them, their works are vanity and nought; their molten images are wind and confusion.

Revelation

11:1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 11:2And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 11:3And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 11:4These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth. 11:5And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their enemies; and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed. 11:6These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire. 11:7And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. 11:8And their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 11:9And from among the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations do men look upon their dead bodies three days and a half, and suffer not their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 11:10And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth. 11:11And after the three days and a half the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them that beheld them. 11:12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in the cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 11:13And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell; and there were killed in the earthquake seven thousand persons: and the rest were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 11:14The second Woe is past: behold, the third Woe cometh quickly. 11:15And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said,

The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever.

11:16And the four and twenty elders, who sit before God on their thrones, fell upon their faces and worshipped God, 11:17saying,

We give thee thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who art and who wast; because thou hast taken thy great power, and didst reign. 11:18And the nations were wroth, and thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, and the time to give their reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that fear thy name, the small and the great; and to destroy them that destroy the earth.

11:19And there was opened the temple of God that is in heaven; and there was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant; and there followed lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.
