24:1When a man taketh a wife, and marrieth her, then it shall be, if she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. 24:2And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. 24:3And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, who took her to be his wife; 24:4her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before Jehovah: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
24:5When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not go out in the host, neither shall he be charged with any business: he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he hath taken.
24:6No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge; for he taketh a man's life to pledge.
24:7If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and he deal with him as a slave, or sell him; then that thief shall die: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.
24:8Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do. 24:9Remember what Jehovah thy God did unto Miriam, by the way as ye came forth out of Egypt.
24:10When thou dost lend thy neighbor any manner of loan, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge. 24:11Thou shalt stand without, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring forth the pledge without unto thee. 24:12And if he be a poor man, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge; 24:13thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before Jehovah thy God.
24:14Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy sojourners that are in thy land within thy gates: 24:15in his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto Jehovah, and it be sin unto thee.
24:16The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
24:17Thou shalt not wrest the justice due to the sojourner, or to the fatherless, nor take the widow's raiment to pledge; 24:18but thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and Jehovah thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
24:19When thou reapest thy harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands. 24:20When thou beatest thine olive-tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. 24:21When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it after thee: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. 24:22And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
114:1When Israel went forth out of Egypt,
The house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
114:2Judah became his sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
114:3The sea saw it, and fled;
The Jordan was driven back.
114:4The mountains skipped like rams,
The little hills like lambs.
114:5What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest?
Thou Jordan, that thou turnest back?
114:6Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams;
Ye little hills, like lambs?
114:7Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the God of Jacob,
114:8Who turned the rock into a pool of water,
The flint into a fountain of waters.
115:1Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us,
But unto thy name give glory,
For thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth's sake.
115:2Wherefore should the nations say,
Where is now their God?
115:3But our God is in the heavens:
He hath done whatsoever he pleased.
115:4Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of men's hands.
115:5They have mouths, but they speak not;
Eyes have they, but they see not;
115:6They have ears, but they hear not;
Noses have they, but they smell not;
115:7They have hands, but they handle not;
Feet have they, but they walk not;
Neither speak they through their throat.
115:8They that make them shall be like unto them;
Yea, every one that trusteth in them.
115:9O Israel, trust thou in Jehovah:
He is their help and their shield.
115:10O house of Aaron, trust ye in Jehovah:
He is their help and their shield.
115:11Ye that fear Jehovah, trust in Jehovah:
He is their help and their shield.
115:12Jehovah hath been mindful of us; he will bless us:
He will bless the house of Israel;
He will bless the house of Aaron.
115:13He will bless them that fear Jehovah,
Both small and great.
115:14Jehovah increase you more and more,
You and your children.
115:15Blessed are ye of Jehovah,
Who made heaven and earth.
115:16The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah;
But the earth hath he given to the children of men.
115:17The dead praise not Jehovah,
Neither any that go down into silence;
115:18But we will bless Jehovah
From this time forth and for evermore.

51:1Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek Jehovah: look unto the rock whence ye were hewn, and to the hold of the pit whence ye were digged. 51:2Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many. 51:3For Jehovah hath comforted Zion; he hath comforted all her waste places, and hath made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. 51:4Attend unto me, O my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples. 51:5My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for me, and on mine arm shall they trust. 51:6Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. 51:7Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye dismayed at their revilings. 51:8For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation unto all generations. 51:9Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Is it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the monster? 51:10Is it not thou that driedst up the sea, the waters of the great deep; that madest the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over? 51:11And the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. 51:12I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou art afraid of man that shall die, and of the son of man that shall be made as grass; 51:13and hast forgotten Jehovah thy Maker, that stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fearest continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he maketh ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? 51:14The captive exile shall speedily be loosed; and he shall not die and go down into the pit, neither shall his bread fail. 51:15For I am Jehovah thy God, who stirreth up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar: Jehovah of hosts is his name. 51:16And I have put my words in thy mouth, and have covered thee in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people. 51:17Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, that hast drunk at the hand of Jehovah the cup of his wrath; thou hast drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it. 51:18There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand among all the sons that she hath brought up. 51:19These two things are befallen thee, who shall bemoan thee? desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort thee? 51:20Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of Jehovah, the rebuke of thy God. 51:21Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but now with wine: 51:22Thus saith thy Lord Jehovah, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; thou shalt no more drink it again: 51:23and I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee, that have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over; and thou hast laid thy back as the ground, and as the street, to them that go over.
21:1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. 21:2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:3And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God: 21:4and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away. 21:5And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true. 21:6And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 21:7He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 21:8But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death. 21:9And there came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were laden with the seven last plagues; and he spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb. 21:10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 21:11having the glory of God: her light was like unto a stone most precious, as it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal: 21:12having a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 21:13on the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 21:14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 21:15And he that spake with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 21:16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal. 21:17And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 21:18And the building of the wall thereof was jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto pure glass. 21:19The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; 21:20the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21:21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the several gates was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 21:22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple thereof. 21:23And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the Lamb. 21:24And the nations shall walk amidst the light thereof: and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. 21:25And the gates thereof shall in no wise be shut by day (for there shall be no night there): 21:26and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it: 21:27and there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean, or he that maketh an abomination and a lie: but only they that are written in the Lamb's book of life.
