26:1And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein, 26:2that thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which thou shalt bring in from thy land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee; and thou shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there. 26:3And thou shalt come unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto Jehovah thy God, that I am come unto the land which Jehovah sware unto our fathers to give us. 26:4And the priest shall take the basket out of thy hand, and set it down before the altar of Jehovah thy God. 26:5And thou shalt answer and say before Jehovah thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father; and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there, few in number; and he became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous. 26:6And the Egyptians dealt ill with us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage: 26:7and we cried unto Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice, and saw our affliction, and our toil, and our oppression; 26:8and Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders; 26:9and he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. 26:10And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruit of the ground, which thou, O Jehovah, hast given me. And thou shalt set it down before Jehovah thy God, and worship before Jehovah thy God: 26:11and thou shalt rejoice in all the good which Jehovah thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thy house, thou, and the Levite, and the sojourner that is in the midst of thee.
26:12When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithe of thine increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then thou shalt give it unto the Levite, to the sojourner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled. 26:13And thou shalt say before Jehovah thy God, I have put away the hallowed things out of my house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the sojourner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandment which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed any of thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them: 26:14I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I put away thereof, being unclean, nor given thereof for the dead: I have hearkened to the voice of Jehovah my God; I have done according to all that thou hast commanded me. 26:15Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the ground which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.
26:16This day Jehovah thy God commandeth thee to do these statutes and ordinances: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thy heart, and with all thy soul. 26:17Thou hast avouched Jehovah this day to be thy God, and that thou wouldest walk in his ways, and keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and hearken unto his voice: 26:18and Jehovah hath avouched thee this day to be a people for his own possession, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments; 26:19and to make thee high above all nations that he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honor; and that thou mayest be a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, as he hath spoken.
117:1O praise Jehovah, all ye nations;
Laud him, all ye peoples.
117:2For his lovingkindness is great toward us;
And the truth of Jehovah endureth for ever.
*Praise ye Jehovah.
118:1Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;
For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
118:2Let Israel now say,
That his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
118:3Let the house of Aaron now say,
That his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
118:4Let them now that fear Jehovah say,
That his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
118:5Out of my distress I called upon *Jehovah:
*Jehovah answered me and set me in a large place.
118:6Jehovah is on my side; I will not fear:
What can man do unto me?
118:7Jehovah is on my side among them that help me:
Therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
118:8It is better to take refuge in Jehovah
Than to put confidence in man.
118:9It is better to take refuge in Jehovah
Than to put confidence in princes.
118:10All nations compassed me about:
In the name of Jehovah I will cut them off.
118:11They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about:
In the name of Jehovah I will cut them off.
118:12They compassed me about like bees;
They are quenched as the fire of thorns:
In the name of Jehovah I will cut them off.
118:13Thou didst thrust sore at me that I might fall;
But Jehovah helped me.
118:14Jehovah is my strength and song;
And he is become my salvation.
118:15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous:
The right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly.
118:16The right hand of Jehovah is exalted:
The right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly.
118:17I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of Jehovah.
118:18 *Jehovah hath chastened me sore;
But he hath not given me over unto death.
118:19Open to me the gates of righteousness:
I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto Jehovah.
118:20This is the gate of Jehovah;
The righteous shall enter into it.
118:21I will give thanks unto thee; for thou hast answered me,
And art become my salvation.
118:22The stone which the builders rejected Is become the head of the corner.
118:23This is *Jehovah's doing;
It is marvellous in our eyes.
118:24This is the day which Jehovah hath made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
118:25Save now, we beseech thee, O Jehovah:
O Jehovah, we beseech thee, send now prosperity.
118:26Blessed be he that *cometh in the name of Jehovah:
We have blessed you out of the house of Jehovah.
118:27Jehovah is God, and he hath given us light:
Bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
118:28Thou art my God, and I will give thanks unto thee:
Thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
118:29Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;
For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
53:1Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed? 53:2For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 53:3He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not. 53:4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 53:5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 53:6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 53:7He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. 53:8By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due? 53:9And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 53:10Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. 53:11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities. 53:12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
1:1The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
1:2Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren; 1:3and Judah begat Perez and Zerah of Tamar; and Perez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram; 1:4and Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon; and Nahshon begat Salmon; 1:5and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab; and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; 1:6and Jesse begat David the king.
And David begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Uriah; 1:7and Solomon begat Rehoboam; and Rehoboam begat Abijah; and Abijah begat Asa; 1:8and Asa begat Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Uzziah; 1:9and Uzziah begat Jotham; and Jotham begat Ahaz; and Ahaz begat Hezekiah; 1:10and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah; 1:11and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away to Babylon.
1:12And after the carrying away to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel; 1:13and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor; 1:14and Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud; 1:15and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob; 1:16and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
1:17So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations.
1:18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 1:19And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 1:20But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 1:21And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins. 1:22Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
1:23Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
And they shall call his name Immanuel;
which is, being interpreted, God with us. 1:24And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took unto him his wife; 1:25and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS.
