28:1And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 28:2Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My oblation, my food for my offerings made by fire, of a sweet savor unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season. 28:3And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto Jehovah: he-lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt-offering. 28:4The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even; 28:5and the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil. 28:6It is a continual burnt-offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah. 28:7And the drink-offering thereof shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou pour out a drink-offering of strong drink unto Jehovah. 28:8And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meal-offering of the morning, and as the drink-offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.
28:9And on the sabbath day two he-lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and the drink-offering thereof: 28:10this is the burnt-offering of every sabbath, besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof.
28:11And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt-offering unto Jehovah: two young bullocks, and one ram, seven he-lambs a year old without blemish; 28:12and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, for each bullock; and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, for the one ram; 28:13and a tenth part of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal-offering unto every lamb; for a burnt-offering of a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah. 28:14And their drink-offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bullock, and the third part of a hin for the ram, and the fourth part of a hin for a lamb: this is the burnt-offering of every month throughout the months of the year. 28:15And one he-goat for a sin-offering unto Jehovah; it shall be offered besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof.
28:16And in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, is Jehovah's passover. 28:17And on the fifteenth day of this month shall be a feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten. 28:18In the first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work; 28:19but ye shall offer an offering made by fire, a burnt-offering unto Jehovah: two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven he-lambs a year old; they shall be unto you without blemish; 28:20and their meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil: three tenth parts shall ye offer for a bullock, and two tenth parts for the ram; 28:21a tenth part shalt thou offer for every lamb of the seven lambs; 28:22and one he-goat for a sin-offering, to make atonement for you. 28:23Ye shall offer these besides the burnt-offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt-offering. 28:24After this manner ye shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah: it shall be offered besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof. 28:25And on the seventh day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work.
28:26Also in the day of the first-fruits, when ye offer a new meal-offering unto Jehovah in your feast of weeks, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work; 28:27but ye shall offer a burnt-offering for a sweet savor unto Jehovah: two young bullocks, one ram, seven he-lambs a year old; 28:28and their meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil, three tenth parts for each bullock, two tenth parts for the one ram, 28:29a tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs; 28:30one he-goat, to make atonement for you. 28:31Besides the continual burnt-offering, and the meal-offering thereof, ye shall offer them (they shall be unto you without blemish), and their drink-offerings.
A Psalm of Solomon.
72:1Give the king thy judgments, O God,
And thy righteousness unto the king's son.
72:2*He will judge thy people with righteousness,
And thy poor with justice.
72:3The mountains shall bring peace to the people,
And the hills, in righteousness.
72:4He will judge the poor of the people,
He will save the children of the needy,
And will break in pieces the oppressor.
72:5They shall fear thee while the sun endureth,
And so long as the moon, throughout all generations.
72:6He will come down like rain upon the mown grass,
As showers that water the earth.
72:7In his days shall the righteous flourish,
And abundance of peace, till the moon be no more.
72:8He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,
And from the River unto the ends of the earth.
72:9They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him;
And his enemies shall lick the dust.
72:10The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute:
The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
72:11Yea, all kings shall fall down before him;
All nations shall serve him.
72:12For he will deliver the needy when he crieth,
And the poor, that hath no helper.
72:13He will have pity on the poor and needy,
And the souls of the needy he will save.
72:14He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence;
And precious will their blood be in his sight:
72:15And they shall live; and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba:
And men shall pray for him continually;
They shall bless him all the day long.
72:16There shall be abundance of grain in the earth upon the top of the mountains;
The fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon:
And they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
72:17His name shall endure for ever;
His name shall be continued as long as the sun:
And men shall be blessed in him;
All nations shall call him happy.
72:18Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel,
Who only doeth wondrous things:
72:19And blessed be his glorious name for ever;
And let the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen, and Amen.
72:20The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
19:1The burden of Egypt. Behold, Jehovah rideth upon a swift cloud, and cometh unto Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it. 19:2And I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. 19:3And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek unto the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards. 19:4And I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts. 19:5And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and become dry. 19:6And the rivers shall become foul; the streams of Egypt shall be diminished and dried up; the reeds and flags shall wither away. 19:7The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, shall become dry, be driven away, and be no more. 19:8And the fishers shall lament, and all they that cast angle into the Nile shall mourn, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish. 19:9Moreover they that work in combed flax, and they that weave white cloth, shall be confounded. 19:10And the pillars of Egypt shall be broken in pieces; all they that work for hire shall be grieved in soul. 19:11The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; the counsel of the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings? 19:12Where then are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now; and let them know what Jehovah of hosts hath purposed concerning Egypt. 19:13The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Memphis are deceived; they have caused Egypt to go astray, that are the corner-stone of her tribes. 19:14Jehovah hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. 19:15Neither shall there be for Egypt any work, which head or tail, palm-branch or rush, may do. 19:16In that day shall the Egyptians be like unto women; and they shall tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of Jehovah of hosts, which he shaketh over them. 19:17And the land of Judah shall become a terror unto Egypt; every one to whom mention is made thereof shall be afraid, because of the purpose of Jehovah of hosts, which he purposeth against it. 19:18In that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to Jehovah of hosts; one shall be called The city of destruction. 19:19In that day shall there be an altar to Jehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to Jehovah. 19:20And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto Jehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they shall cry unto Jehovah because of oppressors, and he will send them a saviour, and a defender, and he will deliver them. 19:21And Jehovah shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know Jehovah in that day; yea, they shall worship with sacrifice and oblation, and shall vow a vow unto Jehovah, and shall perform it. 19:22And Jehovah will smite Egypt, smiting and healing; and they shall return unto Jehovah, and he will be entreated of them, and will heal them. 19:23In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians shall worship with the Assyrians. 19:24In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth; 19:25for that Jehovah of hosts hath blessed them, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
20:1In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it; 20:2at that time Jehovah spake by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put thy shoe from off thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. 20:3And Jehovah said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and a wonder concerning Egypt and concerning Ethiopia; 20:4so shall the king of Assyria lead away the captives of Egypt, and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. 20:5And they shall be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory. 20:6And the inhabitant of this coast-land shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and we, how shall we escape?
1:1Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and the Saviour Jesus Christ: 1:2Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 1:3seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue; 1:4whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by lust. 1:5Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in your virtue knowledge; 1:6and in your knowledge self-control; and in your self-control patience; and in your patience godliness; 1:7and in your godliness brotherly kindness; and in your brotherly kindness love. 1:8For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1:9For he that lacketh these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. 1:10Wherefore, brethren, give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never stumble: 1:11for thus shall be richly supplied unto you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 1:12Wherefore I shall be ready always to put you in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the truth which is with you. 1:13And I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 1:14knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle cometh swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me. 1:15Yea, I will give diligence that at every time ye may be able after my decease to call these things to remembrance. 1:16For we did not follow cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 1:17For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there was borne such a voice to him by the Majestic Glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: 1:18and this voice we ourselves heard borne out of heaven, when we were with him in the holy mount. 1:19And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts: 1:20knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation. 1:21For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
