Numbers

33:1These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron. 33:2And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Jehovah: and these are their journeys according to their goings out. 33:3And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians, 33:4while the Egyptians were burying all their first-born, whom Jehovah had smitten among them: upon their gods also Jehovah executed judgments.

33:5And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth. 33:6And they journeyed from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness. 33:7And they journeyed from Etham, and turned back unto Pihahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon: and they encamped before Migdol. 33:8And they journeyed from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah. 33:9And they journeyed from Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and threescore and ten palm-trees; and they encamped there. 33:10And they journeyed from Elim, and encamped by the Red Sea. 33:11And they journeyed from the Red Sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin. 33:12And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah. 33:13And they journeyed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush. 33:14And they journeyed from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink. 33:15And they journeyed from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai. 33:16And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in Kibroth-hattaavah. 33:17And they journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth. 33:18And they journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah. 33:19And they journeyed from Rithmah, and encamped in Rimmon-perez. 33:20And they journeyed from Rimmon-perez, and encamped in Libnah. 33:21And they journeyed from Libnah, and encamped in Rissah. 33:22And they journeyed from Rissah, and encamped in Kehelathah. 33:23And they journeyed from Kehelathah, and encamped in mount Shepher. 33:24And they journeyed from mount Shepher, and encamped in Haradah. 33:25And they journeyed from Haradah, and encamped in Makheloth. 33:26And they journeyed from Makheloth, and encamped in Tahath. 33:27And they journeyed from Tahath, and encamped in Terah. 33:28And they journeyed from Terah, and encamped in Mithkah. 33:29And they journeyed from Mithkah, and encamped in Hashmonah. 33:30And they journeyed from Hashmonah, and encamped in Moseroth. 33:31And they journeyed from Moseroth, and encamped in Bene-jaakan. 33:32And they journeyed from Bene-jaakan, and encamped in Hor-haggidgad. 33:33And they journeyed from Hor-haggidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah. 33:34And they journeyed from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah. 33:35And they journeyed from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion-geber. 33:36And they journeyed from Ezion-geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (the same is Kadesh). 33:37And they journeyed from Kadesh, and encamped in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

33:38And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of Jehovah, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month. 33:39And Aaron was a hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor.

33:40And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who dwelt in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

33:41And they journeyed from mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah. 33:42And they journeyed from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon. 33:43And they journeyed from Punon, and encamped in Oboth. 33:44And they journeyed from Oboth, and encamped in Iye-abarim, in the border of Moab. 33:45And they journeyed from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon-gad. 33:46And they journeyed from Dibon-gad, and encamped in Almon-diblathaim. 33:47And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. 33:48And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho. 33:49And they encamped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth even unto Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.

33:50And Jehovah spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, 33:51Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 33:52then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places: 33:53and ye shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for unto you have I given the land to possess it. 33:54And ye shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer thou shalt give the less inheritance: wheresoever the lot falleth to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers shall ye inherit. 33:55But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those that ye let remain of them be as pricks in your eyes, and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. 33:56And it shall come to pass, that, as I thought to do unto them, so will I do unto you.

Psalms

Maschil of Asaph.

 78:1Give ear, O my people, to my *law:

 Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

 78:2I will open my mouth in a parable;

 I will utter dark sayings of old,

 78:3Which we have heard and known,

 And our fathers have told us.

 78:4We will not hide them from their children,

 Telling to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah,

 And his strength, and his wondrous works that he hath done.

 78:5For he established a testimony in Jacob,

 And appointed a law in Israel,

 Which he commanded our fathers,

 That they should make them known to their children;

 78:6That the generation to come might know them, even the children that should be born;

 Who should arise and tell them to their children,

 78:7That they might set their hope in God,

 And not forget the works of God,

 But keep his commandments,

 78:8And might not be as their fathers,

 A stubborn and rebellious generation,

 A generation *that set not their heart aright,

 And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

 78:9The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows,

 Turned back in the day of battle.

 78:10They kept not the covenant of God,

 And refused to walk in his law;

 78:11And they forgat his doings,

 And his wondrous works that he had showed them.

 78:12Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers,

 In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

 78:13He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through;

 And he made the waters to stand as a heap.

 78:14In the day-time also he led them with a cloud,

 And all the night with a light of fire.

 78:15He clave rocks in the wilderness,

 And gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.

 78:16He brought streams also out of the rock,

 And caused waters to run down like rivers.

 78:17Yet went they on still to sin against him,

 To rebel against the Most High in the *desert.

 78:18And they tempted God in their heart

 By asking food *according to their desire.

 78:19Yea, they spake against God;

 They said, Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

 78:20Behold, he smote the rock, so that waters gushed out,

 And streams overflowed;

 Can he give bread also?

 Will he provide flesh for his people?

 78:21Therefore Jehovah heard, and was wroth;

 And a fire was kindled against Jacob,

 And anger also went up against Israel;

 78:22Because they believed not in God,

 And trusted not in his salvation.

 78:23Yet he commanded the skies above,

 And opened the doors of heaven;

 78:24And he rained down manna upon them to eat,

 And gave them *food from heaven.

 78:25*Man did eat the bread of the mighty:

 He sent them food to the full.

 78:26He *caused the east wind to blow in the heavens;

 And by his power he guided the south wind.

 78:27He rained flesh also upon them as the dust,

 And winged birds as the sand of the seas:

 78:28And he let it fall in the midst of their camp,

 Round about their habitations.

 78:29So they did eat, and were well filled;

 And he gave them their own desire.

 78:30They were not estranged from that which they desired,

 Their food was yet in their mouths,

 78:31When the anger of God went up against them,

 And slew of the fattest of them,

 And smote down the young men of Israel.

 78:32For all this they sinned still,

 And believed not in his wondrous works.

 78:33Therefore their days did he consume in vanity,

 And their years in terror.

 78:34When he slew them, then they inquired after him;

 And they returned and sought God earnestly.

 78:35And they remembered that God was their rock,

 And the Most High God their redeemer.

 78:36But they flattered him with their mouth,

 And lied unto him with their tongue.

 78:37For their heart was not *right with him,

 Neither were they faithful in his covenant.

Isaiah

25:1O Jehovah, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, even counsels of old, in faithfulness and truth. 25:2For thou hast made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. 25:3Therefore shall a strong people glorify thee; a city of terrible nations shall fear thee. 25:4For thou hast been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. 25:5As the heat in a dry place wilt thou bring down the noise of strangers; as the heat by the shade of a cloud, the song of the terrible ones shall be brought low. 25:6And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 25:7And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering that covereth all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations. 25:8He hath swallowed up death for ever; and the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken it. 25:9And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. 25:10For in this mountain will the hand of Jehovah rest; and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dung-hill. 25:11And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim; but Jehovah will lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands. 25:12And the high fortress of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.

1 John

3:1Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 3:2Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is. 3:3And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 3:4Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 3:5And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin. 3:6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither knoweth him. 3:7My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous: 3:8he that doeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 3:9Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God. 3:10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 3:11For this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another: 3:12not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 3:13Marvel not, brethren, if the world hateth you. 3:14We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death. 3:15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 3:16Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 3:17But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? 3:18My Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth. 3:19Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him: 3:20because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 3:21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God; 3:22and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. 3:23And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment. 3:24And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
