15:1In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign. 15:2Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. 15:3And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. 15:4Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. 15:5And Jehovah smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land. 15:6Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 15:7And Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
15:8In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months. 15:9And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin. 15:10And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead. 15:11Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 15:12This was the word of Jehovah which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons to the fourth generation shall sit upon the throne of Israel. And so it came to pass.
15:13Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned the space of a month in Samaria. 15:14And Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead. 15:15Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 15:16Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the borders thereof, from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.
15:17In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria. 15:18And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin. 15:19There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. 15:20And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land. 15:21Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 15:22And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
15:23In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years. 15:24And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin. 15:25And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the castle of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he slew him, and reigned in his stead. 15:26Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:27In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years. 15:28And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.
15:29In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria. 15:30And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 15:31Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:32In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign. 15:33Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok. 15:34And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done. 15:35Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah. 15:36Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 15:37In those days Jehovah began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah. 15:38And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
1:1Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, 1:2in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal; 1:3but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour; 1:4to Titus, my true child after a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour. 1:5For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that were wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave thee charge; 1:6if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children that believe, who are not accused of riot or unruly. 1:7For the bishop must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; 1:8but given to hospitality, as lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled; 1:9holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict the gainsayers. 1:10For there are many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision, 1:11whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. 1:12One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, idle gluttons. 1:13This testimony is true. For which cause reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 1:14not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth. 1:15To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. 1:16They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
8:1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle he cometh against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law. 8:2They shall cry unto me, My God, we Israel know thee. 8:3Israel hath cast off that which is good: the enemy shall pursue him. 8:4They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off. 8:5He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency? 8:6For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces. 8:7For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing grain; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up. 8:8Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel wherein none delighteth. 8:9For they are gone up to Assyria, like a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers. 8:10Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them; and they begin to be diminished by reason of the burden of the king of princes. 8:11Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars for sinning, altars have been unto him for sinning. 8:12I wrote for him the ten thousand things of my law; but they are counted as a strange thing. 8:13As for the sacrifices of mine offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but Jehovah accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt. 8:14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces; and Judah hath multiplied fortified cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.

123:1Unto thee do I lift up mine eyes,
O thou that sittest in the heavens.
123:2Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their master,
As the eyes of a maid unto the hand of her mistress;
So our eyes look unto Jehovah our God,
Until he have mercy upon us.
123:3Have mercy upon us, O Jehovah, have mercy upon us;
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
123:4Our soul is exceedingly filled
With the scoffing of those that are at ease,
And with the contempt of the proud.
A Song of Ascents; of David.
124:1If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side,
Let Israel now say,
124:2If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side,
When men rose up against us;
124:3Then they had swallowed us up alive,
When their wrath was kindled against us;
124:4Then the waters had overwhelmed us,
The stream had gone over our soul;
124:5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
124:6Blessed be Jehovah,
Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
124:7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers:
The snare is broken, and we are escaped.
124:8Our help is in the name of Jehovah,
Who made heaven and earth.
A Song of Ascents.
125:1They that trust in Jehovah
Are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abideth for ever.
125:2As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,
So Jehovah is round about his people
From this time forth and for evermore.
125:3For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous;
That the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.
125:4Do good, O Jehovah, unto those that are good,
And to them that are upright in their hearts.
125:5But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways,
Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity.
Peace be upon Israel.
