10:1And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, she came to prove him with hard questions. 10:2And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. 10:3And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hid from the king which he told her not. 10:4And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, 10:5and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of Jehovah; there was no more spirit in her. 10:6And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom. 10:7Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me; thy wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard. 10:8Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, that stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom. 10:9Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because Jehovah loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do justice and righteousness. 10:10And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
10:11And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug-trees and precious stones. 10:12And the king made of the almug-trees pillars for the house of Jehovah, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for the singers: there came no such almug-trees, nor were seen, unto this day.
10:13And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
10:14Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold, 10:15besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mingled people, and of the governors of the country. 10:16And king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler. 10:17And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pounds of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. 10:18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold. 10:19There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays. 10:20And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. 10:21And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. 10:22For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
10:23So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. 10:24And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. 10:25And they brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
10:26And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. 10:27And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore-trees that are in the lowland, for abundance. 10:28And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king's merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price. 10:29And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
1:1Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus that are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: 1:2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1:3I thank my God upon all my remembrance of you, 1:4always in every supplication of mine on behalf of you all making my supplication with joy, 1:5for your fellowship in furtherance of the gospel from the first day until now; 1:6being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ: 1:7even as it is right for me to be thus minded on behalf of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as, both in my bonds and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers with me of grace. 1:8For God is my witness, how I long after you all in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus. 1:9And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; 1:10so that ye may approve the things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and void of offence unto the day of Christ; 1:11being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. 1:12Now I would have you know, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the progress of the gospel; 1:13so that my bonds became manifest in Christ throughout the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest; 1:14and that most of the brethren in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear. 1:15Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 1:16the one do it of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel; 1:17but the other proclaim Christ of faction, not sincerely, thinking to raise up affliction for me in my bonds. 1:18What then? only that in every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and therein I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 1:19For I know that this shall turn out to my salvation, through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 1:20according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death. 1:21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 1:22But if to live in the flesh, --if this shall bring fruit from my work, then what I shall choose I know not. 1:23But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ; for it is very far better: 1:24yet to abide in the flesh is more needful for your sake. 1:25And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide, yea, and abide with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith; 1:26that your glorying may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again. 1:27Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you and be absent, I may hear of your state, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the gospel; 1:28and in nothing affrighted by the adversaries: which is for them an evident token of perdition, but of your salvation, and that from God; 1:29because to you it hath been granted in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer in his behalf: 1:30having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
40:1In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither. 40:2In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south. 40:3And he brought me thither; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. 40:4And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee; for, to the intent that I may show them unto thee, art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel. 40:5And, behold, a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed six cubits long, of a cubit and a handbreadth each: so he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed. 40:6Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold, one reed broad. 40:7And every lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and the space between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed. 40:8He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed. 40:9Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house. 40:10And the lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side. 40:11And he measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits; 40:12and a border before the lodges, one cubit on this side, and a border, one cubit on that side; and the lodges, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side. 40:13And he measured the gate from the roof of the one lodge to the roof of the other, a breadth of five and twenty cubits; door against door. 40:14He made also posts, threescore cubits; and the court reached unto the posts, round about the gate. 40:15And from the forefront of the gate at the entrance unto the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits. 40:16And there were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches; and windows were round about inward; and upon each post were palm-trees. 40:17Then brought he me into the outer court; and, lo, there were chambers and a pavement, made for the court round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement. 40:18And the pavement was by the side of the gates, answerable unto the length of the gates, even the lower pavement. 40:19Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, a hundred cubits, both on the east and on the north. 40:20And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof. 40:21And the lodges thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. 40:22And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them. 40:23And there was a gate to the inner court over against the other gate, both on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits. 40:24And he led me toward the south; and, behold, a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures. 40:25And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. 40:26And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them; and it had palm-trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof. 40:27And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south a hundred cubits. 40:28Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures; 40:29and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad. 40:30And there were arches round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad. 40:31And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof: and the ascent to it had eight steps. 40:32And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures; 40:33and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad. 40:34And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps. 40:35And he brought me to the north gate: and he measured it according to these measures; 40:36the lodges thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof: and there were windows therein round about; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. 40:37And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps. 40:38And a chamber with the door thereof was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt-offering. 40:39And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt-offering and the sin-offering and the trespass-offering. 40:40And on the one side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables. 40:41Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew the sacrifices. 40:42And there were four tables for the burnt-offering, of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high; whereupon they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt-offering and the sacrifice. 40:43And the hooks, a handbreadth long, were fastened within round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the oblation. 40:44And without the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north. 40:45And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house; 40:46and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Jehovah to minister unto him. 40:47And he measured the court, a hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house. 40:48Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side. 40:49The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
91:1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High
*Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
91:2I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in whom I trust.
91:3For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
And from the deadly pestilence.
91:4He will cover thee with his pinions,
And under his wings shalt thou take refuge:
His truth is a shield and a buckler.
91:5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night,
Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
91:6For the pestilence that walketh in darkness,
Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
91:7A thousand shall fall at thy side,
And ten thousand at thy right hand;
But it shall not come nigh thee.
91:8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold,
And see the reward of the wicked.
91:9 *For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge!
Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;
91:10There shall no evil befall thee,
Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.
91:11For he will give his angels charge over thee,
To keep thee in all thy ways.
91:12They shall bear thee up in their hands,
Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
91:13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.
91:14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
91:15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble:
I will deliver him, and honor him.
91:16With long life will I satisfy him,
And show him my salvation.
