16:1And the word of Jehovah came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying, 16:2Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel, and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins; 16:3behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. 16:4Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat.
16:5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 16:6And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead. 16:7And moreover by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of Jehovah against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smote him.
16:8In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, and reigned two years. 16:9And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah: 16:10and Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead. 16:11And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha: he left him not a single man-child, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends. 16:12Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet, 16:13for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and wherewith they made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities. 16:14Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:15In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines. 16:16And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also smitten the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp. 16:17And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah. 16:18And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire, and died, 16:19for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin. 16:20Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:21Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri. 16:22But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned. 16:23In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, and reigned twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah. 16:24And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria. 16:25And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all that were before him. 16:26For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities. 16:27Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 16:28So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
16:29And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years. 16:30And Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah above all that were before him. 16:31And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. 16:32And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 16:33And Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him. 16:34In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof with the loss of Abiram his first-born, and set up the gates thereof with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
3:1If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. 3:2Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. 3:3For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 3:4When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory. 3:5Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; 3:6for which things' sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience: 3:7wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things; 3:8but now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth: 3:9lie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings, 3:10and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him: 3:11where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all. 3:12Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; 3:13forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye: 3:14and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness. 3:15And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful. 3:16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God. 3:17And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 3:18Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 3:19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 3:20Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord. 3:21Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged. 3:22Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord: 3:23whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men; 3:24knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ. 3:25For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
46:1Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened. 46:2And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate; and the priests shall prepare his burnt-offering and his peace-offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening. 46:3And the people of the land shall worship at the door of that gate before Jehovah on the sabbaths and on the new moons. 46:4And the burnt-offering that the prince shall offer unto Jehovah shall be on the sabbath day six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish; 46:5and the meal-offering shall be an ephah for the ram, and the meal-offering for the lambs as he is able to give, and a hin of oil to an ephah. 46:6And on the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram; they shall be without blemish: 46:7and he shall prepare a meal-offering, an ephah for the bullock, and an ephah for the ram, and for the lambs according as he is able, and a hin of oil to an ephah. 46:8And when the prince shall enter, he shall go in by the way of the porch of the gate, and he shall go forth by the way thereof. 46:9But when the people of the land shall come before Jehovah in the appointed feasts, he that entereth by the way of the north gate to worship shall go forth by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth straight before him. 46:10And the prince, when they go in, shall go in in the midst of them; and when they go forth, they shall go forth together. 46:11And in the feasts and in the solemnities the meal-offering shall be an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs as he is able to give, and a hin of oil to an ephah. 46:12And when the prince shall prepare a freewill-offering, a burnt-offering or peace-offerings as a freewill-offering unto Jehovah, one shall open for him the gate that looketh toward the east; and he shall prepare his burnt-offering and his peace-offerings, as he doth on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate. 46:13And thou shalt prepare a lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt-offering unto Jehovah daily: morning by morning shalt thou prepare it. 46:14And thou shalt prepare a meal-offering with it morning by morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of a hin of oil, to moisten the fine flour; a meal-offering unto Jehovah continually by a perpetual ordinance. 46:15Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meal-offering, and the oil, morning by morning, for a continual burnt-offering. 46:16Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, it is his inheritance, it shall belong to his sons; it is their possession by inheritance. 46:17But if he give of his inheritance a gift to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of liberty; then it shall return to the prince; but as for his inheritance, it shall be for his sons. 46:18Moreover the prince shall not take of the people's inheritance, to thrust them out of their possession; he shall give inheritance to his sons out of his own possession, that my people be not scattered every man from his possession. 46:19Then he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the hinder part westward. 46:20And he said unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass-offering and the sin-offering, and where they shall bake the meal-offering; that they bring them not forth into the outer court, to sanctify the people. 46:21Then he brought me forth into the outer court, and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and, behold, in every corner of the court there was a court. 46:22In the four corners of the court there were courts inclosed, forty cubits long and thirty broad: these four in the corners were of one measure. 46:23And there was a wall round about in them, round about the four, and boiling-places were made under the walls round about. 46:24Then said he unto me, These are the boiling-houses, where the ministers of the house shall boil the sacrifice of the people.
A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is *overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before Jehovah.
102:1Hear my prayer, O Jehovah,
And let my cry come unto thee.
102:2Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress:
Incline thine ear unto me;
In the day when I call answer me speedily.
102:3For my days consume away *like smoke,
And my bones are burned *as a firebrand.
102:4My heart is smitten like grass, and withered;
For I forget to eat my bread.
102:5By reason of the voice of my groaning
My bones cleave to my flesh.
102:6I am like a pelican of the wilderness;
I am become as an owl of the waste places.
102:7I watch, and am become like a sparrow
That is alone upon the house-top.
102:8Mine enemies reproach me all the day;
They that are mad against me do curse by me.
102:9For I have eaten ashes like bread,
And mingled my drink with weeping,
102:10Because of thine indignation and thy wrath:
For thou hast taken me up, and cast me away.
102:11My days are like a shadow that *declineth;
And I am withered like grass.
102:12But thou, O Jehovah, *wilt abide for ever;
And thy memorial name unto all generations.
102:13Thou wilt arise, and have mercy upon Zion;
For it is time to have pity upon her,
Yea, the set time is come.
102:14For thy servants take pleasure in her stones,
And have pity upon her dust.
102:15So the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah,
And all the kings of the earth thy glory.
102:16For Jehovah hath built up Zion;
He hath appeared in his glory.
102:17He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute,
And hath not despised their prayer.
102:18This shall be written for the generation to come;
And a people which shall be created shall praise *Jehovah.
102:19For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary;
From heaven did Jehovah behold the earth;
102:20To hear the sighing of the prisoner;
To loose *those that are appointed to death;
102:21That men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion,
And his praise in Jerusalem;
102:22When the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.
102:23He *weakened my strength in the way;
He shortened my days.
102:24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days:
Thy years are throughout all generations.
102:25Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth;
And the heavens are the work of thy hands.
102:26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure;
Yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment;
As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
102:27But thou art the same,
And thy years shall have no end.
102:28The children of thy servants shall continue,
And their seed shall be established before thee.
